Nurturing Early Learning Journeys with Passion and Care
Grant and Linley Hattrill opened Educare in 2003 when they moved to Alexandra and saw the need for quality early childhood education and care. They originally operated out of the Alexandra Baptist Church in Gregg St and in 2017 merged their 2 centres into one mixed age setting.
Grant taught Mathematics at Dunstan High School until he retired in 2015, then became our finance guy and handyman fixing and making equipment for the centre. He is now retired.
Linley is the Tumuaki/Centre Manager, and leads the team of kaiako, supporting with professional development, resourcing and does the admin. They are both passionate educators, and enjoy supporting whānau in Alexandra. It's brought them joy to know that they've been at the beginning of so many children's early learning journeys.

Our team of experienced and dedicated kaiako are passionate about providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where each tamaiti can reach their full potential. We believe in personalised learning and tailoring our approach to meet the individual needs of every tamariki in our care.

At Dunstan Educare in Alexandra, we nurture tamariki aged 0-6 in a caring setting, encouraging exploration and growth through tamaiti-led learning in a large playground and tailored under-2s area.
